This healing process is all about allowing yourself to let go of thoughts, attitudes and ideas that no longer serve you. Imagine your brain takes the analogy of a mouse running on the wheel with no break, it just keeps going. Access bars, provides you with the opportunity to get off the wheel, clear out your thoughts and take a step back from the rat-race. Gary Douglas, the founder, developed this healing technique 20 years ago. He explains it as this: “There are 32 bars of energy that run through and around your head.  They store the electromagnetic component of all the thoughts, ideas attitudes, decisions and beliefs that you have ever had about anything.” This process allows you to let go and re-balance yourself so that you have a more still and clearer perspective moving forward.

Access bars is about having an experience, and for many people, allowing yourself to trust and have an experience is challenging. Therefore scientifically, what does this process called ‘access bars’ actually mean and how does it work?

When this process has been researched on a neurological level, Neurologists such as Dr Jeffrey L. Fannin found that when using an EEG and measuring a variety of electrodes before and after a bars session, he found that after this process, the brain was functioning at a lower standard deviation level. This indicates a less active brain. A less active brain is functioning at a lower brainwave level which means concentration and focus are more accessible here.

Dr Lisa Cooney looked at access bars from a physiological perspective using Thermometry, which is the science that looks at temperature measurement. Lisa conducted a variety of case studies and did before bars and after bars tests. Reports showed a decreased level of anxiety and pain, and an increased level of clarity and relaxation.
